I am trying to do a backup from a remote source by IP to a destination new disk image that failed. I have submitted the logs immediately before this email.

Thank you.

    Hi Kit:

The task did manage to back up all of the data to a disk image on the locally-attached "LaCie" volume despite some problems with the disk images infrastructure on your Mac:

    07/10 12:25:16 Creating disk image at /Volumes/LaCie/iMac.sparseimage, size: 974779388k
    07/10 12:25:41 diskimages-helper: DI_kextDriveDisconnect returned 268435459 ((ipc/send) invalid destination port).
    07/10 12:25:43 Mounting "iMac.sparseimage" disk image...
    07/10 12:25:48 Cloning...

Errors occurred when CCC tried to eject the disk image volume, though, and that prevented CCC from converting the disk image to read only.

    07/10 13:00:42 Ejecting disk image...
07/10 13:18:48 hdiutil: detach: timeout for DiskArbitration expired
07/10 13:18:48 Disk Image Tool reported a non-critical error: The image creation procedure failed. (131)
07/10 13:18:48 Converting the disk image to read-only...
07/10 13:18:48 hdiutil: convert failed - Resource temporarily unavailable
    Data copied: 25.10 GB

We occasionally see these types of problems when there is a third-party disk management tool installed. The first thing I would try would be to restart the system and try the task again. If the error recurs, I'd try restarting into Safe Boot mode to restrict the loading of third-party utilities on startup.

If you were just doing a one-time backup of that particular source, then you really don't need to go any further. The "iMac.sparseimage " disk image on your LaCie volume is a complete backup of the source. If you specifically need it to be read-only, you can convert that disk image to read-only in Disk Utility.
