I used CCC with OSX 10.7 Lion, and believe the Clone was bootable, although never having occasion to use it.

I Recently upgraded to OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. When I attempted to Clone, the message said not sure of compatibility.

I then saw an opportunity to upgrade CCC, and did so.

Next I attempted to Clone, but a message warned me of a change in OS.

Not sure of what to do I, created a new folder on the Porsche Design external HDD, and attempted to Clone to it. At this point a message said that I will not be able to boot from a disk image.

Please advise what I have to do now to create a bootable Clone, incorporating OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. It may an extreme step, but I do not mind deleting all the clones if OSX10.7 if that is the only/best way.

I would be most obliged if you would communicate by email to the address given above.
Thank you.

    Hi Royston:

If you choose the "Temporarily archive modified and deleted items" preset, CCC will cleanly update the OS on that destination volume. If you were previously using settings in which CCC was instructed to not delete anything from the destination volume, check out this section of the documentation for some advice on your backup strategy:

    "The destination volume is full"

(that may sound unrelated, but your destination volume would eventually fill up if you didn't allow CCC to manage files that have been deleted from the source)
