cannot boot from clone

Hi there, I have made a clone with 10.7 to an exterenal HD with my OLD Macbook Pro. I cannot boot from that clone with my NEW Macbook Pro Retina. Doing so a "?" is being shown. Booting with my OLD one is possible. Why´s that ??!!
