When setting up email notifications upon errors after performing a backup, CCC doesn't recognize my MobileMe email account set up in Apple Mail. I tried to set it up manually, but without success when sending a test email.

    Hi Ron:

I actually just got someone else to switch to MobileMe to resolve an email issue. Apple stores the MobileMe SMTP settings in a proprietary location, so CCC won't show your MobileMe account in the popup menu automatically. If you enter the settings manually, though, you should be able to send email from that account. The smtp server is "smtp.me.com", authentication is "password", and the username is whatever comes before the "@me.com".

If those settings still aren't work, we can trace the sending of a test email to see what's going on:

    1. Launch CCC
    2. Hold down the Option key and select "Show experimental options" from the Help menu
    3. Click on the "Set debug level" button
    4. Check the box next to "LOG_SIMPLESMTP"
    5. Open CCC's Scheduler window and click on the Notifications tab
    6. Click the "Send test email" button, then wait a few seconds for the email to send
    7. Submit your logs via the "Submit Logs" tab of CCC's Help window.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Thanks Mike

That did it, I just didn't know what I should use as the smtp server. I also had to use port 993 and select to use SSL.

    Thanks for the help.
