Help: An error occurred while CCC was "Getting information about this item (source)"
Hello CCC Support Team:\n\n This problem with long file names is new. I've had this track for about a year now and never had a problem before. I updated to Mountain Lion the day it was released and didn't had the problem. Maybe an update to CCC caused it. \n\nThanks,\n[your name]\n\n****\nError codes: 1300 : 1300 : 63\nError: rsync: make_file: readlink_stat("/Users/CTV/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Compilations/Super Bombazo Navideño/05 Medley Merengue_ Llegó La Navidad_El Camello No Pasó Inspección_Ese Pobre Lechón_La Gallina_Navidad Es Alegría_El Cardenalito_La Manía_Si Saida Se Opone_Los Nenes Con Los Nenes_La Parranda Antillana_Qué Buena Es La Nochebuena_P#145BB2D.m4a") failed: File name too long (63)\nAdvice: Use Disk Utility to repair any filesystem problems on the source and destination, or simply delete and (if applicable) restore the affected items from your backup volume. Note that you will need to boot from your backup volume or the Mac OS X Installation DVD to repair your startup disk's filesystem. If this error persists and Disk Utility issues a clean bill of health for both your source and destination volumes, choose "Ask a question about CCC..." from CCC's Help menu to get help resolving this issue.\n

Hi Cristóbal:
Yeah, I have also seen a few reports of this since the Mountain Lion update. I have tracked down the issue to a very esoteric behavior of the HFS+ filesystem that will be a bit of a challenge to deal with properly. That is, however, on my to-do list for the next minor update. For now, you could rename that file to be a bit shorter, or replace the characters that have diacritical marks to avoid the errors in CCC.
Mike
