CCC & Time Machine

I have a 2TB external disk partitioned into 500Mb for a weekly CCC bootable copy of my system disk and 1.5TB for Time Machine hourly backups.
It would seem prudent to avoid (performance or corruption) interference of these tasks by suspending Time Machine while CCC is doing its weekly back up.
Is there an simple way of incorporating a suspend/resume into a scheduled task?

I'm not really sure how to suspend/resume Time Machine from the command line, I'm not particularly familiar with its inner workings. You could probably stop TM altogether with something like this (e.g. from a preflight script in your scheduled task):

    launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/

Then re-enable it in a postflight script:

    launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/

    Just a guess...
