can't delete from backup drive

Hi, I just downloaded and used CCC for the first time. The backup looks good, though I haven't checked closely yet or tried to boot from the drive. The problem I immediately ran into is that I cannot delete anything -- files, folders -- from the drive manually. The drive is mounted and I'm trying to delete from its finder window. I get error code -1407. Do I need to boot from the drive to be able to delete anything from it? (I know the next backup will take care of it since I deleted those items from the source drive.)

Thanks,
Tim

Booting with the clone is the only valid test. I have no idea what's going on, but error -1407 is errFSNotAFolder = -1407, / Expected a folder, got a file / You need to describe how you made the clone, the computer and OS, the target and how hooked up.

Booted from the backup drive and I was able to delete. Rebooted from
internal drive, opened the backup in finder and was able to delete.
    Maybe the reboot fixed it.

fyi: I did a complete backup with "Delete items that don't exist on the
source" on an empty, formatted partition on a OWC drive connected by
firewire to my iMac OS X 10.6.4.

Everything is apparently working as expected now.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Good cloning.
